I am was the theme for Pride Week 2012. It meant to remind everyone that LGBT individuals are part of society - just people, everywhere, living their lives and being themselves. The only difference is that we still have to fight for rights that other people take for granted.. safe streets and schools, acceptance from parents, being treated equally in employment, recognition of our relationships and families, free healthcare.
The week was celebrated through a Pride March held in Sliema which included the participation of the leader of AD Michael Briguglio, PL MP Owen Bonnici and Minister Chris Said as well as the American Ambassador Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley. The celebrations also included a film festival and another successful WomenSpace event.
