Transphobic Message at University's Gender Neutral Bathroom

Yesterday, the Insiter reported that a disturbing message was written at the Gender Neutral Bathroom at University of Malta.

The text "transgenderism is a mental illness" was scribbled on the bathroom wall, at the bathroom used mostly but not exclusively by transgender persons.

Transgender people are not mentally ill, However transgender people facing social rejection, bullying and violence are more prone to mental distress.

We condemn this act of bullying and transphobic behaviour and remind the perpetrators that hate is a social illness and a crime (not to mention vandalism).
