The Transgender Education and Support Programme (pilot); funded through the hate crime agenda of the Office for Students - OfS (formerly Higher Education Funding Council for England - HEFCE), focuses on the following: - Gender Identity/gender roles - Transgender/transphobia - Legislation, policy and procedure
(with specific attention to how the University of Worcester aims to provide a more inclusive learning and teaching environment for staff and students).
As this project is a pilot, learning will be used to make recommendations to the Equality and Diversity Department, as well as to Student Services.
At this round table discussion, Esther will give an overview of the project from an operational perspective, as a participant in the programme and a member of the team.
Esther Dobson is an Event Co-ordinator from the University of Worcester UK, who supports work on Violence Prevention. In addition to organising events for the Centre for Violence Prevention, she has recently taken on the role of Project Co-ordinator for the Transgender Education and Support Programme.
