2020 will go down in LGBTIQ+ history as the year when 500+ Prides all over the world were cancelled due to the COVID19 pandemic. On 2nd June 2020, Allied Rainbow Communities (ARC) took the decision to cancel the annual Pride March & Concert scheduled for September 12th, in view of the fact that mass gatherings were and still are considered high risk in spreading the contagion.

The celebratory element and feeling of community that the Pride March & Concert brings about will definitely be missed this year. It does not stop us, however, from holding smaller scale events for the LGBTIQ+ community that promote diversity, raise issues of concern as well as bring about a feeling of belonging, learning, sharing, acceptance and growth while continuing to safeguard public health.
Allied Rainbow Communities, as registered trademark holders of Malta Pride (TM56412, TM55088, TM55087), is accepting calls for event proposals during the month of September to be endorsed as Malta Pride Official Events and be listed in the Official Calendar.
