About the event

The Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression and Sex Characteristics (SOGIGESC) Unit within the Human Rights Directorate (MJEG) will be hosting its second annual conference, at which the Unit will present the work done during the last year, in achieving the measures outlined in the LGBTIQ Equality Strategy and Action Plan 2018-2022. 

The Conference, entitled The Road to LGBTIQ Equality: Progress and Challenges is to be held during Pride Week on Wednesday, the 9th of September, between 08.30 hrs and 13.30 hrs, at The Palace Hotel in Sliema.  

It will include the presentation of the annual report, a key note speech by a representative of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights and two panel discussions, the first analysing the outcomes of the FRA LGBTI survey 2019 for Malta and the second focusing on the Impact of COVID-19 on the lives of LGBTIQ persons in Malta.
