The coalition of LGBTIQ organisations, namely: the Malta LGBTIQ Rights Movement, Allied Rainbow Communities, LGBTI+ Gozo, Drachma and Drachma Parents Group and Checkpoint Malta have issued a set of proposals addressed to a number of leaders of political parties running for the General Election taking place on 26 March.
These proposals emanate from experiences encountered by activists of these organization in the past years. The document focuses specifically on the areas of public policy, migration, healthcare, sexual health, other proposals, and specific proposals that are particular to the lived reality of LGBTIQ people in Gozo.
The document is prefaced by a note stating:
None of the proposals are new, nor are they revolutionary. Several proposals, once implemented, will benefit, not just the LGBTIQ community but the population in general.
