We honestly can't wait to the second edition!
We are so proud to see Malta's Drag scene emerge out of the ashes, especially during these uncertain times. Chucky hosted "Aw Oħt! - Malta's first Digital Drag Show" on May 20th and brought together some of Malta's finest queer scene artists for an hour show of queer art that got our wig snatched and begging for more.
Here's the down-low of what happened
@BLAKKVELVET spooked us with their opening number of 'Tear You Apart' by She Wants Revenge.
Kim Cauchi as Blakk Velvet is new to the drag scene but already shows much promise. We interviewed Kim Cauchi, a tattoo artists by profession, about her drag persona, in our 4th Episode of the Friday Night Fever Series which you can watch here
@COCOBORDELL gave us queers all the weirdness we need right now and we loved it. We got a lot of Raffaella Carrà vibes there and we got intrigued by the dog in the story line and those clogs. Cocobordell has been one of the brainchildren behind The Brunch Bunch - Malta's latest drag brunches with bingo extravaganza...before Rona happened of course.
@TRIHANNA_WILDE is a production powerhouse! She served us with a fresh music video having multiple wardrobe and scene changes. Needless to say, our wigs got snatched. She lip-synched to "Woman Up" by Megan Trainor.
Next up was Hazel @ZEROGODDESS_ART who gave us some incredible improvised voguing. They let their story come through via the music. Besides the dancing, they also served us with amazing animation that will be displayed virtually as part of their degree project.
@CHUCKBARTOLO served us with a rendition of RATS the Musical, featuring her lovely children and which was produced for the second edition of @mothertuckerhq's online show.
@TRIHANNA_WILDE ended the show with her original music video 'Kwarantina'. The lyrics and the whole production is so well made!
