COVID19 has turned our lives upside down but for some of us, it might have been a blessing in disguise. As life stopped racing, some people took the opportunity to re-evaluate their life priorities and also discover and develop new talents.
This was the case for Stefan Varga, an expat who has been calling Malta his home since 2018. Stefan is a full-time professional photographer, under the brand of Focus by Mr. V and ARC is no stranger to him. He has been taking photography for our events, including Malta Pride ever since he setup his base here.
While the lyrics are pretty clear (check further below) and relatable, we asked Stefan what was the raison d'être for this song and this was his reply:
"If there is anything you want in your life, you just have to go for it. Life is full of obstacles and when things seem not to be going your way it's way too easy to give up.
Turn around is a song about all of those times I fell down and didn't know how to continue. First struggling to come into terms with my sexuality when living back in Slovakia and having nobody to talk to about it, followed by all those difficult times when I lived in the UK just earning enough to pay my bills and completely feeling out of place.
I realised that the only way to survive is to just get on with it and keep on going, staying positive & staying strong. Turn around, hold your head up high and believe in yourself. You are the most important person in your life - you can make you or break you. "
