This evening the third reading of the "Affirmation of Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Gender Expression" and the "Gender Identity, Gender Expression and Sex Characteristics Act and other laws (Amendment)` will take place in Parliament.

Bill No. 170 - Gender Identity, Gender Expression and Sex Characteristics Act and other laws (Amendment) Bill.
The new bill and amendments have been put forward by the LGBTIQ consultative council and the Ministry of Civil Liberties and Consumer Rights.
Bill No: 167 is the bill dealing with conversion therapy, today the Malta Council of Psychologists welcomed the new law and described gay conversion as “inhumane,” as “not only does it reject a group of individuals on the basis of unfound prejudice and lack of tolerance for diversity, but also because it impinges on the international recognition of LGBTIQ rights; also supported by progressive trends to depathologise such individuals from mental health statistical manual classifications.”
The 3rd reading will take place tonight between 18:30 and 21:00 hours
