Malta Pride Press Release

On Saturday the Maltese LGBTIQ community will be Celebrating Love, Life and Diversity at Malta Pride 2017. This year Malta Pride invites the public to celebrate the newly enacted Marriage Equality Law, Malta's number 1 ranking as the most LGBTIQ friendly country in Europe (ILGA Rainbow Index) and raise awareness to improve and tackle LGBTIQ Health related issues.​​

Pride Day Celebrations will be taking place throughout Valletta, starting at 4:00pm in front of the President’s Palace at St Georges Square. Activities include a Festive Parade with participation of floats, dancers, drag artists and street performers, a Street Party, and a Free Concert featuring top local artists including Ira Losco, Chiara, Glen Vella, Davinia, Clinton Paul, Kurt Calleja, Chrystabelle, Franklin and many others. During the Parade a Giant Rainbow flag will be unveiled along with many other surprises.

Pride Celebrations continue at 21:00 at the Official Malta Pride Party at Medasia Playa in Tigne, Sliema. Featuring UK Diva and BAFTA Winner Katherine Ellis and London LGBT Celebrity Dj Phil Marriott along with top local LGBT drag artists and Dj Lineup. Malta Pride is organised by Allied Rainbow Communities (arc) on behalf of the local LGBTIQ organisations and is being sponsored by LeoVegas, Vodafone, Chestertons, Ministry for European Affairs and Equality, Coca Cola, Bavaria, Airmalta, Smirnoff.
