Why do we still need Pride in Malta? Are we there yet? Who are we leaving behind? What’s next for our communities and movement? This event aims to provide a space to LGBTIQ communities in Malta to discuss the role and relevance of Pride by presenting a history of Pride marches in Malta, reflecting on achievements and highlighting gaps for LGBTIQ people in Malta. Organised by: Ruth Baldacchino & Mina Tolu Mina Tolu is a trans, queer, and feminist activist from Malta. Mina has over 8 years of experience in local and international queer activism and organising, with a focus on communications. Since 2015, Mina lives in Berlin, Germany, where they work at Transgender Europe. Ruth Baldacchino is a non-binary trans, queer and feminist activist from Malta. Ruth has extensive experience in international and national LGBTIQ activism, advocacy and research. Ruth is ILGA World Co-Secretary General and works as Programme Officer at the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice (New York), where they are responsible to lead the Intersex Human Rights Fund. Ruth also lectures Queer Studies at the University of Malta. Free Entrance.
