On February G-Sam MCAST launched Safe Space an initiative launched in collaboration with Agenzija Zghazagh. The aim of Safe Space is to bridge the gap between LGBTIQ+ individuals seeking help and professionals able to offer their support. Safe Space takes places every Wednesday at the MCAST Paola Youth Hub between 8am and 12:30pm. During this time, LGBTIQ+ individuals who are struggling with defining their sexual orientation or gender identity, or who would like to share their experience, are able to talk to someone their own age who can empathise with the problems they currently face. Additionally, on the last Wednesday of every month, the Safe Space volunteers will be accompanied by social worker Beverley Abela Gatt who will be assisting in providing professional advice if needed.
